▪Diverse Exhibition Spaces
The park features multiple themed exhibition areas, systematically chronicling the evolution of Taiwanese ceramics from early everyday essentials to exquisite fine art, enriching visitors' perspectives and knowledge.
The Lin Tien-Fu Permanent Exhibition Hall
This gallery is dedicated to the life and legacy of the founder, master potter Lin Tien-Fu, showcasing his iconic masterpieces. It also features traditional functional pottery produced during the early days of the Zhunan kiln—such as large water crocks and flowerpots—offering visitors a glimpse into the "living aesthetics" of early Taiwanese daily life.

High-Temperature Wood-Firing Exhibition
Focusing on contemporary ceramic art, this area showcases modern wood-fired works by the second-generation kiln master, Lin Jui-Hwa, alongside pieces from domestic and international artists-in-residence. These works are renowned for their unique "natural ash glaze" and warm, organic textures, each being a one-of-a-kind art piece born from the natural dialogue between fire and earth.
Other Kiln Types Exhibition
Beyond the core Snake Kiln, the park also displays models or remains of various other kiln types. This helps visitors understand the technical differences and historical backgrounds of diverse firing methods.

▪Snake kiln
The Zhunan Snake Kiln stretches across the exhibition hall like a long, slumbering snake. It is a traditional wood-fired kiln built into the natural slope of the hillside, constructed layer by layer with mud bricks. Its winding, elongated form resembles a giant snake crawling through the landscape, which is how it earned the name "Snake Kiln." Far more than just a museum exhibit, this kiln is one of the few remaining functional cultural assets in Taiwan that continues to preserve and utilize traditional wood-firing techniques.
▪Pottery Classroom
Eleven Studies Pottery Classroom" is a dedicated experiential space within the Zhunan Snake Kiln complex. It offers a diverse range of ceramic courses, allowing participants to create their own functional pottery pieces by hand. The classroom's most distinctive feature is that finished works are fired in the historic Zhunan Snake Kiln using traditional high-temperature wood-firing techniques. This process grants each piece a unique natural ash glaze and a warm, organic texture. Under the guidance of professional instructors, both beginners and families can enjoy the fun of hand-building and experience the charm of traditional craftsmanship. Courses are available by appointment only, making it an ideal destination to connect with Taiwan's rich pottery culture.

▪Temperture wall
Located in Miaoli, the Zhunan Snake Kiln is one of the few traditional snake kilns still in operation in Taiwan, world-renowned for its pioneering high-temperature wood-firing techniques.
The core achievement of this kiln lies in pushing the limits of temperature. In 2016, Master Lin Ju-Hwa successfully reached a staggering 1,563 degrees Celsius using only pure wood fuel, setting a Guinness World Record and writing a new chapter in the history of Taiwan's traditional craftsmanship.
Artworks from Zhunan Snake Kiln emphasize a "no-glaze" philosophy. Instead, they rely on "natural ash glaze" formed through the intense refinement of high heat. As flying ash melts and fuses onto the pottery's surface, it creates a warm, one-of-a-kind texture and a vibrant sense of vitality.
Beyond preserving its precious historic kiln structure, Zhunan Snake Kiln serves as a vital international platform for ceramic exchange, embodying the spirit of persistence and innovation in Taiwanese craft.
We invite you to visit the Zhunan Snake Kiln Official Website to find visitor information, book a guided tour, or register for a pottery workshop to experience the charm of this legendary kiln firsthand.
