Field Survey
It is Nov, 3rd, 2024. It is the day we explore Hsinchu Glass Art Museum and Glass Studio. Let’s take a photo in front of the museum first and prepare to start today’s journey! The volunteer was also very excited to share the history and characteristics of the Hsinchu glass industry with us. It turns out that the installation art at the door is made of broken glass from the glass studio next to it. It is really eco-friendly and smart! What’s even more surprising is that the current Glass Museum of Hsinchu City used to be the Hsinchu Autonomous Association Hall, which was the residence of the reception committee!

Next, we enter the Glass Museum, the bright sign also attracts our attention. The museum is also holding an exhibition about the starry sky at this time, and artists make various objects come alive. Another exhibition is also held on the first second floor of the museum, and this work "Snow Mountain" has different patterns in 360°. The museum also has a collection of works. The artwork on the left was invented by a Taiwanese art creator inspired by the work pictured on the right.

Then, we go to the glass studio next door and are ready to start making our own unique glass! We finish making our glass pieces! There is also a place to sell the artworks on the second floor of the Glass Studio, where plans for a W Loop store are being promoted. If the glass is broken, you can get a brand-new glass container by taking the glass fragments to the store to exchange them. This method is really environmentally friendly. Back at the Glass Museum of Hsinchu City, the volunteer also enthusiastically answers our questions.

A few days later, we received the glass pieces we made, which was a great sense of accomplishment and a perfect ending to this inspection.
Finally, we visited the International Glass Art Festival on November 24, 2024, and saw the works of glass artists from all over the world. Some allow us to feel the moods and feelings of those artists at the time, while others appear very abstract. Regardless, everyone gained a lot!
